if, after snow by Sheila Graham-Smith
“Arousing from the most profound slumbers, we break the gossamer web of some dream. Yet in a second afterward, (so frail may that web have been) we remember not that we have dreamed.” —Edgar Allan Poe
Non-Fiction

Moving Pictures: The Movers by Noam Gal
The cover of Noam Gal’s The Movers reproduces Gal Weinstein’s carpet installation, Jezreel Valley. New, Old & Notable is a recurring column by Gordon Phinn in which he concisely reviews several books from the past and present.

The High-Rise in Fort Fierce by Paul Carlucci
Five stars for a stellar example of contemporary creative fiction. Reading this book was like binge-watching 5 seasons of a TV show on Netflix. It is simply marvellous how Mr. Carlucci weaves each story into a cohesive perspective on life in a small NWT town and its lone high-rise that shelters all manner of left of normal types. Humorous and sad, raw and honest, this book will satisfy those who enjoy good contemporary fiction. (Contributed by James M. Fisher)
